drove from Bellevue down to Bob Dickman's Les Schwab in Junction city today and had two more AGM 8D's installed for a total of 4 house batteries. They fit well. The front tires did not come off the ground.

While I was there also had 4 michelin XDN-2 snow tires put on the drive (one of us goes north in the winter). Those tires are wider in tread than the XZE and have alot of siping and traction. I put my highway drive tires on another set of rims for the summer. This required towing a trailer to bring back the 4 tires on rims
Had them also install the pressure pro system to cover the tag and toad tires. The gen 1 smartire system still is working but for how much longer? Some redundency for awhile on the main tires but at least now I can add the tag and the tires on the tow car. If you pull the pressure pro caps off the valve stems when putting the coach in storage you preserve the battery life of the $50 caps. They constantly transmit data as long as they sense pressure so the manual says 2-3 years battery life. Just need to number them so you put them back on the same stem or else you need to re calibrate them later.
Coach over at Davis Cabinets for the next few days having the Norcold removed (priceless) and the cabinet modified for a Samsung french door refrigerator. The kitchen cabinet will be modified for a fisher Paykel dishwasher.
Last on the list is to replace the existing MSW inverter with a 2800 watt Magnum and install on-spot insta chains on the drive axels. Then I will close this chapter how to make your coach a money pit.

I tried to have the On-Spot chains installed at Western Bus east of Portland about 3 weeks ago. They got the correct chains and mounting plates from On Spot, Indiana factory for the our coach and they could not make the chains fit because of the reduced clearances at the 4 air bag rear axle suspension assembly during the leveling (lowering of the rear end) of the coach. Cory and Mike at Western Bus were extremely knowledgeable and worked for over two hours trying to make the installation work. If you have success installing the On-Spot system please let me know along with your rear suspension mfgr. and model numbers. thx, Paul, 2001 CC Affinity 40' #5951

Your comments are very interesting. I am pretty sure my suspension is a Ridewell Model RADT-246 drive/tag. I am thinking that there should be room for the units to retract in behind the axel on the engine side (rear of axel). I would be interested in what your suspension is under your Affinity. I assume you have a tag axel. If it is the same suspension I would like to stop by Western Bus this next wed or Friday while I am transporting my coach from Junction City back to Bellevue to see if it is the same situation as yours.
I am having a company up here in Everett Wa that installs these onspots on Blue Bird School Buses do the work. Not sure if they know what they are doing since they lost all the pictures they took to send them to onspot for sizing. I would install it myself but I am not fond of working under 42,000lbs vehicles floating on air.

I too would be very interested in seeing how the on-pot chains coudl be installed as we prefer the cooler, wetter weather of the northwest all year and that woudl be a great addition.

My rear suspension is a Ridewell #RD-227 drive axle/suspension assembly and a Ridewell RIT-207 tag axle and there was no room to install the On Spot chains due to the frame clearances during leveling. I am a pretty mechanical (Owned a CC since 1994) and after I saw Colby and Mike at Western Bus install the chains the factory sent them in four possible locations only to find when the CC lowered during leveling it would crush the chain assembly I was glad I was not installing them. They had a lift so they raised the motorhome so they could work on it. Make sure and tell them you have a different suspension than I have because they know my CC will not accommodate he chains.
If they measure your CC for the chains and this info is sent to the factory, it takes 10-14 days for the factory to design the assembly and ship it to Western Bus in Boring, OR. From what I have seen I would go to Western. There is a lot more to this installation (especially on a CC) than meets the eye. Good Luck and keep me posted.
