Hurricane with Winterized Water Heater?

In my still new to me 2003 Intrigue, I know there is a loop from the Hurricane hydronic system through the hot water heater. Is there any issue with operating the hydronic system on the diesel burner with the hot water heater bypassed and empty for the winter? Actually there could be a bit of pink anti freeze in the hot water tank.
