Another Samsung story

We are on our first trip after installing the Samsung RF197. I have one complaint. My ice cream is so damn hard I can't dip it. We run it on the inverter when on the road and so far it looks great. We've been on the road for nine days and it it very difficult to get used to not worrying about the refrigerator. The install was a bit more difficult than the one Dallas did due to a different floor plan configuration. Total cost after selling the Norcold on ebay was less than $1000.If it craps out after a couple of years it appears that it would be cost effective to just replace it compared to the alternatives. Since we leave our refer on when at home and since the coach is garaged in an RV garage that is attached to the house I sure do sleep better knowing my house is not going to burn down due to a refer fire. For those of you thinking about the conversion---go for it! Lyle Wetherholt

Good deal Lyle, after having 3 buses and being used to total electric, this absorption fridge business is a big pain. I think I'm fortunate to at least have a Dometic and I use the icemaker power source and run off the inverter 24/7. The gas works well, but I just don't need it. You'll be really happy when it's about 95 degrees out and your ice cream is still like a rock!
