Stop engine light coming on

Good morning Country Coach type people... Gordo here.
I have a question to ask the group. My 1999 Allure 330 HP, 409 HP due to Banks system installed and is Cummings powered. The "stop engine" light came on every time while giving it more fuel at highway speeds or just starting off. But, as soon as I let up on the fuel, the light went off as fast as it came on. It felt like it wasn't getting enough fuel when the light went on. I was on my way to Grass Valley, Ca. from Sacramento so it was happening on flat land and in the hills. It was dry weather @ 68*. It did this from start to finish going there but since I knew what would happen I kept my foot very light. All gauges were normal 180 water, 50 PSI oil, Yeah, yeah old school dash!
On the way home it did it for the first 20 minutes of driving and then stopped as fast as it started. Weather was wet and cold 45* Ran like it always has... Like a bat outta heck! This morning it's running like a champ. I checked oil and it is low one quart, just the way I keep it, other wise it barfs oil mist out the tube and on my toad while under hard acceleration (done this for since I've owned it). One shy keeps everything clean. Transmission level and codes are normal (although "check trans" light came on twice with the "stop engine" light on the way up)
What has me puzzled is the fact, it stopped acting like a bad boy and is back to good boy behavior. I have many trips planed, so taking in the unit when its not acting up is always pointless. But if you fine people know what it is, I can give the MoHo hospital a clue as to where to start. Ahh... Life on dee road! Thanks

I had the same issue with my ISC 330 in a 98 Allure. It turned out to be a temperature pressure sensor

that was a part of of the fuel injection pump. It was changed and all was well for about 2,000 miles,

but then theinjection pump gave up the ghost and had to be replaced. I would take the coach to

Cummins now while you can, towing can be very costly and very inconvenient.
While they are checking

out your coach make sure they check for any recall and update programs.
When they finished with mine

I picked up two mpg if I stayed under 60 mph. If you are still using the small 275 R 70 tires keeping

the rpms down can be a real fuel economy issue. I switched to 275 R 80's to support the weight of the

coach, IMPROVE THE RIDE, and gained better fuel milage. TWI 98 Allure 30255
