Air Leveling System

I have a 1998 CC Intrigue and the leveling system will not go into travel mode. Can someone help me with this problem.

Hey while I have you hear have you heard of anybody having issues with the steel frame structure rusting through. I have two sections of the square tube framing that has rusted. One piece is the front right corner of my propane tank compartment that supports the tank mount. And the other is a piece that supports the kwickie steps. I have to find a welder to come and take out the bad sections and weld in some new pieces.

The rusting issue has been a common problem due to the metal frame not being preped properly before painting. Also remember before you do any welding on your coach be sure that you disconnect all the cables from your batteries.

Jimmy, I had the same problem on our 99 Magna. No green light for travel mode. It turned out to be a blown fuse in the run bay. Changed the fuse and everything worked great!

On one of our first trips we had our leveling system refuse to go into travel mode. It was so long ago I don't remember whether any red lights in the indicator panel were on but I do remember that we had had trouble getting the coach level the night before reaching the maximum height at back and cycling through the whole process several times before we gave up. When we fired up to go the next morning the rear stayed at its maximum height and the system wouldn't go into travel mode. The problem didn't have anything to do with the road leveling system per se but rather was due to a blown fuse in the auto leveling system control box which has a bunch of fuses. This control box is in the front dash panel in front of the passenger. You have to take off the leatherette covered "kick" panel and then the fairly large box cover behind it to get at the fuses which are all lined up in a row although not, as I recall, labeled as to function. Check each fuse for continuity and replace any bad ones. As I recall ours was a 3 or 5 A fuse that had blown. This particular fuse probably had to do with dumping the control valves that the auto leveling system uses so that the mechanical system which has to do with leveling while going down the road could function. Someone else also mentioned the possibility of a fuse being blown. The idea here is to reinforce that possibility and let you know where it is.
In essence I think I'd describe it as having two leveling systems. One is the auto leveling which is electronically controlled while parked with the brake set and the trans in neutral. The other the road system which is mechanical. They both use the same air bags and valves to the bags but the electronic leveling system has to disengage before the mechanical road system can function. The mechanical leveling valves are, in effect, bypassed when the electronic parked leveling system is is control. The problem described has nothing to do with the ride height adjustment.

Sorry for the delayed response, but I am behind this week. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I had the same symptoms with my 2003 Allure and it turned out to be the computer for the HWH leveling system itself (behind the cabinet in front of the passenger seat). The good news is I had no time constraints so I had it sent back to HWH for rebuilding, and they fixed it and went through the entire computer at the same time. It was only $160.00 (plus shipping) and it is like new now. Hopefully your problem is a simple fuse issue or something. Good luck.......
