Hi Brian and Ya'll..........

Sorry for the delay in responding to this note. Email access is not too easy this far north. I just recently received Delorme's new GPS receiver. It works much better than my old one. It locks on to the SAT's. in about 1/4 or less time than the older one. Also, it seemed to hold them better on Mt. roads. I got an extension USB cable and buried the receiver up in my roof -- just to the rear of the metallic exterior paint -- ran the wire up the center windshield post. I'm very pleased with its' performance.
Up here I have to use Map N' Go because Streets does not contain any Canadian roads. We just took the Ferry over to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia. This was a very easy ride. They put us on the bottom deck with the 18-wheelers, which was no problem at all.
Something to be aware of..........I have been an ATT. customer for a long time, so I asked them about their coverage for our trip -- Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Foundland and Labrador. They told me about their $20/month upgrade to their Nationwide "No Roaming Charge Package" (can't remember the exact name) would allow me to place calls just like I was in the States at no additional charge. Even after I told them of my planned route, they didn't tell me that they have no roaming agreements in Newfoundland, nor Labrador, and only in parts of Nova Scotia. My cell will work only with a credit card AND at $2.50 per minute in NF.
I may switch to Verison, I know that Verison has roaming agreements in these places and has much better data capabilities for Internet connections.

I have used the new Delorme USB receiver on my Dell Laptop this last trip & it works fine on their software.
I could not get it to work on the Trailerlife software where I planned my trip.
