Bose 321

The control unit on our Bose 321 system has failed. The DVD/CD tray will not work. Does anyone have a unit that you have removed that you would be interested in selling?

Thanks,
John,

John I sent my unit to Bose. They repaired the tray and checked the amp. If I remember correctly the price was reasonable with a 90 day guaranty.

John,

I sent my front end unit to Bose and they sent me a refurbished one for $165 exchange including all shipping.
I thought that was very reasonable. Works like it should.
You can also get a complete new generation unit for under $400 but it uses a different sub woofer and interconnecting cable. The only advantage I could see was the new unit has an HDMI connection. Replacing the cable to the subwoofer under the cooktop would be a major chore.

John,

I have the same problem. In looking at several options, Bose 321 refurb, new 321, fully new electronics, I decided to get a small Sony bluray player with composite video out. Cost was $80 at Sam's Club. Have hooked it and it works great running either directly to the OLD 321 or through the VCR input1. I plan to install below the CD changer in the front right cabinet above the dash. To help the remote control, will add some repeaters to work with the cabinet closed, but that is not required. You don't get HD, buy very respectable picture on both normal and bluray discs. Even looks good on the 65in DLP projector in our ceiling.

John,

I too, had the exact same problem with my unit a year ago. I also sent mine back to Bose and quickly received a re-furbished unit for $165.00. I was extremely satisfied with the service and experience and would highly recommend it. I also did not want to have to change the wiring to the sub-woofer in the kitchen. They updated all the latest software, etc. and their telephonic help line was very good. It is rare nowadays to find such a great support experience from a manufacturer, but Bose was superb. They do not "farm out" their service work, but do it all themselves. Just my two cents..........

Thank you to all who responded to my question on my Bose 321. I called Bose this morning and they were very easy to deal with. I am sending my unit to them for repair.
Thanks again,
John

John,

Bose has a policy that you can sent the unit back to them and they will repair it for one set price, no matter what the problem. You might want to contact them for details. I had a lightning strike on ours and sent it back. Think it was about $150-$200 for complete repair. I, too, had an 04 Intrigue at the time.
