Holding Tank Access

Yahoo Message Number: 81170
I'm going to install the updated SeeLevel II Tank Monitor system that uses soft strips that adhere to the outside of each tank for sending boards. The existing system uses 4 probes on the inside of the tanks and is notoriously unreliable. I just realized I don't know how to access the side of the tanks where the existing probes and wiring harness are located.
Is that the hatch without a latch on the passenger side or is it behind the plumbing bay?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

I would be interested in what you find regarding the SeeLevel II connections. I have the same problem with bad reading of sensors on my black tank. Let me know if you find an answer. Thanks

Jock - We have the old Sea Level system and have had problems with sporadic readings on the BWT. Water and grey levels work OK. Sludge builds up on the inside of the tank which fools the sensors. You get proper readings up about 1/2 way then it jumps to 94 or 97 and stays there. An over dosing of Rid-X has removed the sludge and restored reliability to the level readings. Something to try, perhaps, before replacing sensors. It worked for us.

Jim,

The "hatch without a latch" is the access to the holding tanks. It is hinged, and held closed with three screws, easily accessible at the bottom of the hatch.

Get yourself a prop for the hatch (I use my windshield squeegee).
My Inspire has, I believe, the SeeLevel I (notII), and it uses the strips on the outside. Are you certain yours has internal probes? The strips are located on the front side of the tanks (your right as you look at the tanks). I need to reattach the adhesive strips from time to time, but the system works well.

I would be surprised if 51457 has a different system than 51501.
