NEW to the CCC. (2001 allure 36'going full time)

Several questions of you old pros:
1) The stairs run in and out as I drive?
2) What is the best procedure for leveling?
3) When I hook to shore water the pump runs and then settles, then when I run the water it cycles.. shouldn't need it then right?

please feel free to help with these or other valuable info I need.

Congratulations on your new coach and welcome to the CC forum.
When my steps did that, the "button" switch on the door jam was loose.
When I level, I put the slides out then hit the "air" button twice for automatically leveling.
It sounds like you need to turn off your water pump when you connect to city water.
It's good to include your coach #, year and model in your signature. You can find the coach # (etc) on bathroom cabinet door.

On the door switch, you also should give it a good shot with aerosol contact cleaner; maybe multiple times. That solved the problem for me.

Bob, when you park for the night you should level then run your slides. If you run your slides first this will eventually cause them to bind due to being unlevel. If your steps continue to go in and out there are 4 brass connectors at the doo hinge. Those get corroded and lose contact, therefore causing your steps to malfunction. First, use a very fine grit sandpaper to get rid of the corrosion, then spray these contacts with electrical cleaner. Hope this helps. Your manual has all this info in it under trouble shooting.

I agree. If you value your windshield level before pushing out the slides. If the coach is off level side to side then pushing out a slide can torque the frame and distort the windshield frame. The sound of the windshield splitting across the middle will get your attention.
