Lone Pine, CA to Pahrump

Has anyone traveled eastbound from Lone Pine, CA to Pahrump, NV via highways 136/190/160? I understand that Townes Pass is a b.... going westbound and Panamint Pass can be a challenge. But, I'm looking for someone who has driven the eastbound route.

Towne pass down to Panamint Springs going east is very steep and long. The road is good but you will need good working engine brakes. We held a small rally in Panamint Springs January before last and avoided this route going east because not all the motorhomes were fit to go up the grade. Even in a car it is exciting. Wonderful scenery when it is possible to walk around in it. Once past Mother's day it gets VERY HOT there. There are full hookups at Stovepipe Wells now.

Have only traveled 190 WB from Stovepipe Wells to Olanchaand that was in a Class C many years ago.
According to a So Cal Auto Club map "the most interesting approach to Death Valley is SR 190 from Olancha through Towne Pass. The road is narrow and steep along some stretches and is not recommended for trailers. The Trona - Wildrose Road from Trona through Emigrant Pass is also not recommended for vehicles pulling trailers. Motorists pulling recreational vehicles should enter the valley via either of the eastern approaches: SR 178 from Shoshona or SR190 from Death Valley Junctions." I realize you are not a travel trailer, but are probably towing a toad, so offer this advice. From Panamint Springs elev. 1920 ft to Towne Pass 4956 ft. in approx. 8-10 miles. Having said all this, Death Valley is a unique and beautiful part of this Country-enjoy
