Weldex System Problem

Yahoo Message Number: 90720
2008 Country Coach Inspire 360 has had intermittent rear camera display since new.....Oregon RV worked on it twice by cleaning terminals at rear camera but it continues to blank out. Side cameras always display, so monitor is ok. Next recommendation is to replace cable between rear camera and monitor but "it is going to be expensive." Any suggestions to trouble-shoot before biting the bullet? One tech suggested that it sounded like a ground problem at the monitor? Is there a ground at the rear camera as well?

Hiker John,

How about buying the Weldex Cable either 40' $28.00 or 60' $32.00 and run it from monitor to camera as a dumb line, if that works its your installed cable.

John:

Had a similar problem. I cleaned the mating cable ends at camera and monitor, and then coated them with dielectric grease and re connected.
Haven't had another blackout.

John,

I had the same problem with my camera and solved the problem by running a small amount of sealant accross the top seam of the camera. It seems that moisture was getting into the camera and it would not work especially after a rain storm.

You have two black boxes behind your monitor. Each has a fuse. I found that if these fuses are going bad they will eventually blow. I suggest you replace both fuses as I did and that should solve your problem.
