Seat motor needs replacement: 2002 Intrigue

Yahoo Message Number: 92999
I recently bought a 2002 Intrigue and am discovering and fixing a few items before hitting the road towards the end of winter. My first motorhome and I'm anxious to start enjoying it. I've studied the years worth of dialogue on this site and am grateful for the questions and feedback people receive. Learning about the many issues confronting coach owners provides useful knowledge that may someday provide beneficial.

I've searched the site for anything related to replacement of motors on the passenger seat but don't find any thread of discussion. On my seat is a housing containing 3 motors, and one of those 3 has stopped working. The motor that slides the seat fore and aft no longer does the job, and the other 2 motors providing front and rear tilt are still working OK. The consequence is that the seat cannot be positioned to face rearward towards the galley. The housing of this set of 3 motors makes access tricky and beyond my skills. I've searched every You Tube I could think of but those all seem to depict simple motor replacements. Might someone have experienced need to replace these motors and if so, how did you go about it? I've googled seat motors and do not find any that look like this set.

If you can't find replacement motors, your motors can be removed and sent off for rewind repair. Howard RV in Wilmington, NC recently did that for a Monaco customer.
Good luck,

You might try James Electric, Gainesville, GA or Surplus Center.com.

John,

It's very likely your seats came from Home-Style Industries, Nampa, ID, 208-466-8481. They may be able to help.
Home-Style was acquired by Drew Industuries in Jan 2011, but the phone number above still seems to work.
They were very helpful a few years ago when I had a problem with one of their seats

Let us know what you find out.

John, Before removing the seat motor, have you confirmed you have 12 volts going to the motor? One of my seat motors was inoperative. Turned out to be a broken wire connection at the switch.
