Replacing Ice Maker line

I have a leaking water line for the ice maker, if I open up the outside vent for refrigeration I can see the line but unable to access the connection. How difficult is it to pull the refrigerator out to get to the line? Any suggestions or tips?

This is the original refrigerator.

Don, you can pull the refer out just enough to reach the top where the line goes into the ice maker. You might have to pull it out kinda sideways to be able to reach it.
When you replace the line get an ice maker install kit from Lowe's or Home Depot. They are PEX and are resistant to cracking when in freezing temps so the heater line that is surrounding the current water line isn't needed. The heater line is what causes the water line to harden and crack, usually where the line bends.
I replaced mine with the PEX line and it withstood 4 at night and 14 daytime temps.

You can remove the ice maker to gain access to the other end and you might be able to connect a string to the end pull out the old tube and pull the new tube up with the string.

Its not the line that cracks below 20F its usually the solenoid. Speaking from experience.

Mike. That is an interesting idea. So, on a Dometic, the line comes through the back of the fridge and the upper connection is to the ice maker inside the fridge? I thought it attached to a fitting on the outside back of the fridge which cannot be reached without pulling fridge.

If I remember right the hose just slips into to back of the ice maker. There is no clamp holding it. This is on the Norcol 1200 and I assume it is the same on a Dometic. The ice maker has four screws holding it in place.
