Glass mirror closet door doesn't slide

We have two bedroom mirror closet doors, one slides smoothly but you have to physically lift the other one up to make it move.  We need to remove them both to fix the non-slider but cannot get them out of the rails.  Has anyone removed theirs and if so, how did you do it?  There has to be a trick.  What is it?

Usually it's the rollers on the bottom. Try lifting the closest one out first, then the one further into the closet. May have to have a second person, use a blade to hold the wheel up so that it releases, Roger Harper

I agree with Roger, You have to lift the front mirror up and at the same time move the bottom out to free it from the upper guide. The bottom on mine has to be move out at least a foot to free it from the upper guide.

Shirley,

Lift the door up and pull out the bottom.  They are pretty heavy but it is doable.

I spray both bottom and top slide track with silicon lubricant.  Try that before removing the doors.

Good luck.

Closet door:

The best thing we have done to our coach was to have Premier of JC replace the heavy, ugly, mirrored, aluminum framed closet doors with wooden doors as used in Magnas and Affinities of later production. Beautiful, much lighter and look like a nice french door. Even had them given the patina treatment to match the coach. What a difference!

Great to read!  Thank you.  We'll be doing the same thing, and you were nice to share the information.

Any chance you could post a photo of the new doors? We are considering doing the same and would like to see how the new doors are designed.

Thanks

Mary, Gary:

Premier in Junction City provided the closet doors which are much the same as those Country Coach used in Affinities and Magnas. Ours are the medium cherry with expresso patina and are a perfect match and provides beauty not seen with the cheap metal doors. We replaced the aluminum-framed originals after having difficulty keeping them latched shut and in one piece.

On the inside of the closet door there is a screw that raises and lower the wheel in relation to the bottom of the door. By adjusting wheels down my door slides easier.

If you want to remove the door- raise wheel in the highest spot.

Robert:Raising doesn't get rid if the ugly and cheap of the metal framed doors! Country Coaches deserved better. Premier quoted $1,400 for the two doors plus shipping to me in Virginia. They said the shipping weight would be 200-300 pounds! Since the doors have mirror glass in them, I am having trouble believing they are lighter than the original doors.... much more attractive, yes, but lighter, not sure.

I plan to see if some local to me will make the doors and put cherry veneer panels in place of the glass.

It wasn't pounds, I meant 200.00 to 300.00 dollars as an estimate for freight. Sorry for the confusion.
