2001 Allure Cummins ISC 330 Overheating

Have any of the owners of the 2001 Allure had problems with the Cummins ISC 330 overheating?

So far Buddy Gregg in Knoxville worked on this. Replaced the coolant, fixed some leaks and tested the Electric Control unit (the sensor that turns on the radiator fan when the temp. approaches 190.
Next Cummins in Knoxville replaced the thermostat. Overheating continued. Cummins South in Atlanta (a new venture that specializes in coaches with Cummins engines and will work on the rest of the coach systems with the promise of a "one stop fix"}found a weld in the exhaust pipe had come apart, right by the radiator, blowing hot air into the radiator and the above sensor. They fixed this but the overheating continues. At rest stops to let the engine cool off, I would sometimes find the fan not running and the water and engine warning lights on. Would turn the motor off, wait for a few minutes, and when I started again the radiator fan would come on and the engine temp would rapidly come down. Currently Buddy Gregg's in Knoxville again has the coach and will consult with factory support on a fix. The technician there will be checking on corroded connections. Failing this my plan is the have the fuse on the sensor pulled, which causes the radiator fan to run constantly, and head for Junction City, Or.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? What was the fix? Any suggestions?Would appreciate hearing from you.

Hello Everyone,

Can someone tell me where this fuse is located? I sold my coach and the newer owner just called and said the red light in the temp gauge is on and the temp looks to be around 210. Tihs was after about an hour on the road going 55 miles an hour. There are no other warnings on the dashboard. NOt sure if it is a gauge problem or a fan problem at this time. So we thought maybe pulling the fuse would make sure the fan is running. He said the fan was running but he didnt check it right away this was about 10 mins after he pulled off. Maybe it is running fast enough or if it was running when he was going down the road, no way to tell??? He said the temperature came down when he pulled off the road and he let it idle.

Anyway, your help is appreciated.

Not sure on the Allure. On my 02 Intrigue it is located in the front run box under the drivers seat.{outside} However the fan can be defaulted to full speed by disconnecting either the 2 pin or 6 pin connector on the rear of the radiator housing which goes to the fan speed controller. The fan speed controller is an Aluminum square box attached to the Pilot valve which has hydraulic lines to feed the fan motor, really easy to spot from under the coach. Be sure to disconnect these connectors if you decide to with the engine shut off and then restart the engine. Protect your face and eyes from airborne dirt and debries when under the coach with the fan at full speed.
For your further information, the Sauer-Danfoss logic incorporated in this design is such that the fan speed will default to the highest speed in the event of a loss of 12 volt power or ground due to corrosion, broken wire, or loose connection. Additionally, any sensor loss will assure the same protection.

A cooling fan which runs at full speed is easy to diagnose, a fan which does not run fast enough is much more difficult. Good Luck

Bob, I'm not aure I would cosider 210 deg. as overheating. My ISL 370 runs at just under that temp when in city traffic and in hills.
