Air compressor

The air compressor in compartment under drivers seat cycles on and off, is this normal? Have not heard this before today. What is the function of this small compressor? Cycles on and off on 30 sec intervals.
Thanks in advance for your help.

On my 07 Allure470 that compressor works with the HWH leveling. Mine only works when the leveling pad is in level, either auto (2 pushes) or manual (1 push) of the HWH pad. If it is cycling I would think the auto level is on and one corner is dropping out of level.

Chris thanks it only cycles when going down road so will check if level is off. It seems to run only when the ignition is on. So it being on makes sense, I have had different rv before the CC and were little different.

The HWH system is trying to level. If it continues you may have a slight air leak in your system.

Sounds like a leak in the aux air system, or the air leveling is cycling a lot due to a leak.

Not sure if the tiny compressor this refers to is the vacuum supply for the a/v heater valves? It cycles when there is a vacuum leak in the rubber tubing or valves. Mine has done this for years as I have not been able to find the leak!

Carl, I think the device you are hearing is the vacuum generator for the dash HVAC system. There must be a leak in either the accumulator or a hose.

Are you sure that it is the air compressor and not the little vacuum pump that operates the dash climate control system doors and flaps. My vacuum pump is located high on the forward wall of the compartment under the driver's seat and it cycles on and off because of a small leak in one of the little vacuum hoses that are nearly impossible to reach behind the front cap. Just a thought.

The air compressor is to maintain air pressure while parked and on the HWH auto level
