Adjust ride height

Yahoo Message Number: 115023
On my 2001 Affinity 42 w/tag I'm trying to adjust ride height. There are two on back one on each side. There is a rod attach to a bracket off the frame that runs up an down, on the rod is the arm that is attached to ride height adjuster. Nothing happens when I move arm up an down on either side. I'm not sure what going on , I can't believe both ride height adjuster failed at same time but could be I guess. Last week on the way home I stopped over night at rest area and leveled the coach. The rear was fully extended an I think ride height might have gotten out at that point. I've read some old post about problems with the these coaches leveling system when this happens, but how would that effect the adjusters. Thanks in advance. Brian 2001 Affinity 42 w/tag. 5945

Did you have the ignition key on when adjusting? Or the coach running? On 02 Magna the adjustment requires very little movement on the rod. Also, always block the coach when you are under it in case it would drop.

Well Rick these things make me look like an idiot on a daily basis it seems like. They adjusted with the key on. The back was 1 " to high an it made it ride really rough. It's dead on 8" an now really floats down the road. I appreciate your response an help.
Thanks Brian

No I did not have key on. I will try that. Yes I definitely have 25 ton jack stands underneath coach. Thanks for the info.

“ always block the coach when you are under it in case it would drop”    Where would you block up the coach?  Not the axle!  From: Country-Coach-Owners@yahoogroups.com [mailto:Country-Coach-Owners@yahoogroups.com] Sent: Friday, May 25, 2018 11:18 AMTo: Country-Coach-Owners@yahoogroups.comSubject: Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] Adjust ride height    Well Rick these things make me look like an idiot on a daily basis it seems like.  They adjusted with the key on. Hi Folks,
I have replaced ride height valves 3 times - can't block the frame while adjusting
the height.

Wendell I put my jack stands under a bracket or something that the top of air bag is mounted to. Your right under axle won't help in this situation.

You cannot block it solid but I did put my 25 ton jack stands a couple inches below just in case, so it wouldn't drop all the way. There actually a pretty good area of clearance in the area between the two back axles but it's always better to be cautious.
