Koni Shocks and Ride Height

Had the shocks adjusted to maximum and ride height checked. Is was low on both ends, raised to standard. Should help bottoming out problems on bridges. Have not checked it out on a good bump, but it drives well. Thanks for the previous posts about ride height adjustment, found the correct height in the file area. John 2002Allure

As I understand it, the term 'shock absorber' is really a misnomer since their main purpose is to dampen oscillation/sway after hitting a disturbance in the road. I think that most of the shock/bump absorption is done by the air bags and the tires. Maybe someone more knowlegeable can enlighten us??

You understand it correctly. And, while Americans have used the term "shock absorber" for many years, the Brits call them "dampers" ... which describes their function much better than "shock absorber."
But don't ask me why they use the terms "bonnet" and "boot" for "engine hood" and "trunk lid."
