Fuel Filter & H.P.

While at Cummins with the warning light problem, they found a stored code for fuel pump failure back in December. That was when I changed the primary fuel filter (2 part with sight glass), put it on dry as the manual insists, and had a hell of a time getting it started.
Used the key on procedure, waiting for the lift pump to quit and then did the same thing 3 more times and it still didn't want to keep running. I have never put one on dry before and we sure don't do it on the big trucks.

The Tech at Cummins said not to put them on dry. He said to fill the filter using the small outer holes which in turn filters the fuel before it gets into the intake part of the filter through the big center hole. The secondary can be put on dry as long as you use the 3 cycle procedures with the lift pump.

You can upgrade your ISL 370 to 400 with the stroke of a computer key! This can be had for ONLY $2,700.00. At 90.00 a horse, I'm sticking with the 370...
