Horney black tank flush!

Yahoo Message Number: 17267
Thought that might get your attention. Recently purchased a 40' '98 Intrigue. One of the air horns works but the other doesn't. Any experience on what the most likely problem might be?
Also, the black tank flush doesn't. Yes, I make sure the drain is open b4 I put about 40# of water pressure to the flush - nothing. Are my nozles clogged? The black tank guage read incorrect when we got it so put about 1/2 gal degreaser down the commode and filled the tank to about 3/4 & drove it about 75 mi. & dumped - guage works as good as any do now. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I heard something about this recently.... the flusher valve can go bad or get stuck. Might need to change it.

Glen,

Sorry can't help you with your air horn issue-haven't had that problem. It does sound like your black tank flush nozzle may be clogged. I say may because I've found 40#s of water pressure to be minimum to force water through the nozzle. I'd try a faucet with more pressure first. If it still doesn't work, it is an easy fix if you have access. It is a nylon nozzle with about 10 holes that plug up.
Your owners manual file should have the manufacturers literature on the system & it explains the fix clearly. I clean mine out every year. It is about a 30 minute job once you have access to the nozzle.

Hope this helps..............

-Glen, are you sure both horns aren't working? On the Allures and Intrigues, at least thru early 03 models, both horns are the same length, hence the same tone. I thought only one of mine was working when I bought a '97 Intrigue, but found out they were both the same.
Same deal on my 2000 Intrigue and my 03 Allure. I finally bought one longer horn from Hadley and installed it myself--total cost about $ 110. Now it sounds like a bus.
