Bad odor on 01 Intrigue

Yahoo Message Number: 17963
We are experiencing an intermittant bad odor that seems to come from under the sink in the galley and reminds us of old stale milk. It seems to be easily removed by using the vent for a few minutes and does not seem to occur when we are in the coach - only when we are gone for several hours.
Have removed and cleaned everything under the sink several times except for that large box built into the cabinet that covers or hides who know what.
I know we had a broken drain hose from the sink that once had to be repaired under the galley cabinets and slide and wondering if I should try to did into that area.

Has anyone experienced this in the galley area and resolved it ???

I forget what it's called, but under the kitchen and bathroom sinks ... at the top of a vertical section of drain pipe ... is a vent that's designed to allow air to go into it, to allow for proper draining. Sometimes the vent malfunctions and allows odors to come OUT of it.
Apparently replacements can be purchased at The Home Depot, Lowe's and other places that sell plumbing supplies. The vent reportedly simply screws on/off ... and, it's cheap!

I had the need for one. I couldn't find them at Home Depot. I did however find them at Allied Trailer Supply in Sacramento. So, I'd recommend going to really good RV supply for them. They are called vent checks.

Here is a picture of one.

Go to Take yours out and take it with you when you go shopping.

Good Luck.
