Southern Utah & Arizona

Fred: Wow! That was quite a travel-talk. I've lived in "these parts" since 1948 and spent summers in Boulder and Escalante for three or four years with my Cousins who lived there.
Also, having owned house boats on Lake Powell and nearly raising my family there, we take a lot of it for granted.
You are correct. To really enjoy the scenery and take advantage of all of the special places you need to spend some serious time there.
For any full-timers on the forum who are looking for places to hang out, that part of the country is great. During the Winter months it can get real nasty notwithstanding the hot summers and mild climate most of the year.
The months of Dec-Jan-Feb are to be avoided but otherwise the weather should be good. It's not like the Sun Belt but most of us have heaters, right?
