Coach Purchase

I am looking at purchasing a 2005 Magna and would appreciate some feed back on this coach. I don't like the idea of a small grey tank (do lots of dry camping) and does this coach have 2 hydrohot systems instead of one aquahot system? The fit and finish looks great. How is the factory for service ? I understand the minute the warrenty is up you are done. Any information would be appreciated. I have always wanted a CC .

Another question: Why do they not reverse the wheels on the tag on the Magna but they do on the Intreque and the other models.

John,

The tag axle GAWR is increased when the rim offset is placed on the inside of the axle, like you have seen on the Magna, Affinity, (and Prevost buses). The manufacturer can pick up anywhere from 1,000.lbs to 4,000.lbs extra carrying capacity by doing this.

John,

The size of the tanks depends on the length of the coach. Chances are it is a 45' which will have dual 70 gallon tanks.
It will have one 50,000.btu Hydro Hot furnace that is plenty adequate for that coach.

John,

Our 05 Magna is 30 months old and CC will still do warranty work that they believe is their problem but they will not do that if you are the second owner. As far as dry camping with a Magna, I would buy a small, cheap, coach if I were planning on dry camping. This coach is designed for luxury travel not for sitting in a Walmart.

John,

The tag on the Magna has a higher weight rating and is positioned to carry a heavier load.

Bill G. I have replied to your comments by email but forgot to say that I have stayed at Wal Mart once in 10 years. How about yourself.

Bill G.,

I beg to differ with you. These coaches dry camp very well. It took us years to get out of the RV parks and discover a world of places that don't have hookups, incredibly beautiful places like Palisades Dam in Idaho where the South Fork of the Snake River is ten feet in front of your windshield, places like the campgrounds in the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming where you can see moose right next to your coach, and even the BLM Long Term Visitors Area near Yuma where we've fattened up on potlucks and met the best people in the world. This is our idea of luxury travel.

This is in response to Linda's note. That is our style of luxury too, it doesn't get any better than that. You go girl !!

Amen!

We've been the only people on the beach many times...love to go places where there are no or few campers because there are no facilities!

John,

I have stayed at a Wal-Mart to but only when there was no other choise. I prefer 50 amps and a hot tub. When someone tells me they want to dry camp I think of spending 2 or 3 weeks at Quartsite or a Wal Mart. When we lived at Pawleys Island, SC we had to pass special ordiances to keep people out of Wal Marts along the beach. If you go to rallies with a Magna you will do fine for 5 to 7 days. There are times when I wish we had a toilet that did not use so much water like the old drop type but then again the coach would not be as expensive. We use the old "If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down" method at rallies, and then wait for the honey dipper and water man who always comes in the middle of the rally. The cost of CC rallies has gone down to $195 with CC picking up the $300 additional cost. Our Magna has a single Aqua Hot and a seperate 10 gallon electric HWH and we are all electric with 2-3000 watt inverters. Batteries are 30 months old and still going strong but we do avoid anything but 50 amps where possible. We even have 50 amps in our garage on both sides of the coach. The Magna is a great coach. The 05s had some over heating issues but so did everyone else. Those issues have been resolved and our coach actually runs cooler at times then our 01. Any more questions let me know. You will not find many 05's on the market, since they only made about 100, and they will not be cheap. so good luck.
