Air Horns

Has anyone fixed, replaced, or adjusted the air horns on their coach so that they work??? The sound is awful and the delay in sounding is very annoying especially when you need to use it in a hurry.

I'd be interested in this too. Mine simply don't work. CC tech suggested a solenoid under drivers seat but I haven't had time to figure out where it is.

-Doug, I called CC also, and in the end I had to find the solenoid on my own. My coach is a 93 Magna, so I imagine that the solenoid is in the same place as mine. The solenoid is hooked to the bottom of one of he air tanks located in the front compartment on the passenger side. It is located where it is open to the elements and the electrical connection simply corroded. My battery for the generator is also in this area.

Hi Wayne,

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to your suggestion. I looked and was not able to the solenoid. Guess by the time they got to my coach CC figured out that the bottom of the tank is not the place to put it. I finally located mine today at the top of the bay ABOVE the air tank. The soelnoid istslef has gone bad so now I have to fine a replacement.

Again, thanks for your help. I think CC still thinks its under the drivers seat. LOL

CC tech tells me that it is on the back wall outside of the compartment that the fuse box is in on the drivers front. I will have the truck shop put a new one in when they do the marker light recall.

On the 95 intrigue the solenoid is in the compartment under the driver seat. I found it strapped to the frame of the compartment just inside and to the left. Had the same problem, the treminals were corroded off. If you are handy the better place for the solenoid is up above the driver and as near to the air horns as possible. You will find they will be louder and come on faster. I have both electric and air and when I had the solenoid down below and with the electric horns turned on also, I would hear the electric before the air, now it will do both right away. With the solenoid up closer to the horns you have full pressure closer and the horns will respond faster , otherwise it has to fill the air lines all the way up to the horns. Takes a few seconds.
