I purchased a Santi-Con holding tank emptying system. I have been using it when I get the coach home, pumping the tanks into a cleanout on the sewer line at my house. It works great. I am thinking of using it all the time, and am wondering if anyone else has set one up on their coach, facing the same issues as I have.

First, currently I pump everything out (black first then gray) and then remove the pump and motor. That is a bit messy, as gray water remains in the pump and spills as I remove the assembly. If I could leave it hooked up all the time I would not have that issue. The problem is this: The pump and motor are too long to fit inside the plumbing bay. I have to remove the plug for the sewer hose at the bottom of the bay. Now the assembly is poking out the bottom. This causes two concerns: The assembly is supported only by the bayonet fitting, which is plastic and I am worried about vibration going down the road cracking it, and the opening at the bottom allows dust and dirt in.

I want to somehow close off the opening in the bottom and build in a support holding the whole thing up and not allowing any side-to-side vibration.

Any ideas?

Great as it is, I don't think you want it hooked up 'full time', since it is much slower than a 3" hose. Perhaps if you could install it via a 'y' so you could still use the 3" hose when appropriate it would be good. Also, don't they have a 'permanantly installed' version? That might have the solution to your problem.

I have the SaniCon and the nice part about it is that it is hooked up all the time. No more messing with those hoses, etc. The one inch hose fits nicely in the utility bay while still attached to the pump. Yes, it is slower, a small price to pay for the convenience, and much more sanitary set up.
If I could not have it connected full time, I probably would not keep it.

I agree about the advantage, even if it is slower. Everything enclosed, no chance of a leak, and no messing dealing with the accordion hoses. But I have to figure out how to mount and secure mine, because taking it off does involve some spilled gray water, and I am not comfortable with it hanging out the open bottom plug going down the road.

I had the standard hose, then tried the Sewer Solution, then switched to the SaniCon about 18 months ago. I installed it myself and it just fits. I have enclosed a couple of photos. In my case the bayonet mount is parallel to the ground. It sounds like yours may be different.

I don't see the photos. Where did you post them? And yes, my bayonet mount faces straight down. Maybe I could install an elbow?

My post should have read: I too sent you a picture of my sani-con installation. It uses a 45deg elbow and stays hooked up all the time.

I used a 90 clear elbow to hook up mine, which does not work as well in that position as it does straight up and down. But it does work adequately, and the macerator is supported by the high part of the floor in the wet bay (I use a couple of wooden shim wedges for the best fit). Then the problem was getting the hose to attach, as the exhaust port pointed straight down into the 'pan' in the 'wet' bay. I solved this with several brass plumbing fittings to reroute the exhaust port so that the exhaust hose exits through the 3" hole in the pan.
With this configuration, the macerator does not drain completely, and I don't know how well it would survive the rigers of road travel. But it is fabulous for long stays at my dads place where the dump site is far off.

Someone mentioned '100 foot' dump runs through 3/4 inch hose. My instructions limits the range to 50' through 3/4 inch hose. For longer runs, they recommend larger bore PVC pipe.
