Hi

This is largely a Ford or Chevy Conversation.... Usually very opinionated . . .
The Pressure Pro and Doran are the same thing and are fairly popular. They screw on to the tire valve stem and are pretty accurate. They will also do the toad and can be changed from toad to toad fairly easily.
The units that mount to the inside of the rim work as well, however the installation expense is much greater as the tires have to be dismounted to install them. the same goes for the toad tires... The advantage is they do temp as well.
There is a fairly new unit out there that screws to the valve stems and also does temps... BUT no one is happy with the company that is distributing it. There have been numerous issues with billing, delivery and I suspect the support will go away fairly soon as the company that is distributing it is not very well run.... I would stay away from that one... I cannot recall the name off the top of my head.

I feel it is more important to have one than which one you have.
I have used the pressure pro for about 8 years and 100,000 miles on my coach and either pulling my toad or a 32 foot tri axle stacker.. I would not be without one.

I have Smart Tire currently but am trading RV's. The new one does not have Smart Tire and I have decided to go with Pressure Pro for several reasons; Smart Tire is unreliable, it is expensive, it gets more expensive if one of the sensors needs to be replaced and lastly, Pressure Pro can be monitored on the Silverleaf. Hello,
New to the group - someday a Country Coach is in my future.
We also have the Pressure Pro system and can tell you that the people at Advantage Pressure Pro in Missouri are great. I have had several problems with the unit, both in and out of warranty and they have always treated me fairly.
Agree with Mikee on advantages, disadvantage is that you can't replace the batteries and must get new sensors when they go bad (prox.$25 each I'm told). Another big advantage for me is not having to go around the vehicle checking pressures all the time. Just turn it on early the morning we are moving and in less than 5 minutes I have all the pressure readings for coach and toad right from the cockpit.
Also, we do take our sensors off if we are parked for more than a few weeks (between trips, etc.) as they stop sending signals when removed and it saves battery life. Would not be without them either.

I have the "Smart Tire" installed on my 40' coach as well as my toad, a 2006 Ford F250 4x4. I have no complaints as both work as advertised and I am able to keep track of my tire pressures as well as temperatures while driving of both vehicles. I view it as a safety item to have the system installed.

Mike,

We installed Tire Safeguard on or '06 Inspire and our toad and it has worked perfectly. We installed the monitors on the valve stems of the coach but inside the tires on the Jeep. We have called the company for information a few times and the customer service has been excellent. You talk to the owner and he will explain everything to you, he even called the next day to see if we were ok on his instructions. We would definitely buy their product again.

Good Luck,
Kathy
