inop fuel gauge

After a series of elec issues following a shop visit all seem to have been resolved except for the fuel guage. With the ignition off the gauge needle shows empty as it should. Turn the key to on; same thing. Turn the engine on and the needle reads a bit above 1/2, no matter how much or how little fuel there is in the tank. All other dash gauges seem to function correctly. The fuel gauge in our 2006 Intrigue did the same thing. Fix was a new fuel gauge. All works well now.
