Importing a Country Coach into Canada

To import any vehicle into Canada, a Recall Clearance Letter is required from the manufacturer on company letterhead. That is not possible now that CC is bankrupt. After exchanging several emails with info@... (RIV = Registrar of Imported Vehicles) there now appears to be an easy solution -- CanadaRecallWaiverForm.pdf which I just uploaded to the files section of this forum.
The following good links were also provided in my communications with them (before they sent me the Recall Waiver Form). They are still worth reviewing:

Thank you for your recent inquiry about the importation of a Motorhome from the US into Canada.
To determine the admissibility of a Motorhome, please refer to this list at: http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/safevehicles/importation/usa/index.htm
Admissibility information for class A and C motorhomes can be found in Section (5.1), for class B motorhomes please refer to Section (5.2)
To view a list of possible modifications that may be required for a motor home please visit http://www.riv.ca/ModificationAndInspectionRequirements.aspx and select the appropriate class from the drop down menu.
A recall clearance document for the chassis of the vehicle will also be required. Please see the following link at http://www.riv.ca/english/html/recall_clearance.html to learn what is sufficient for your vehicle.
There is a non-refundable 195$+ tax fee for importing a vehicle. Please contact Canada Border Service Agency to determine if there are any duties and/or taxes applicable. The CBSA can be reached at 1-800-461-9999 (within Canada) or 204-983-3500 (outside Canada). You can also visit https://www.riv.ca/CostConsiderations.aspx to learn about possible costs associated with the import process.
U.S. Customs requires notification whenever a self-propelled vehicle is permanently exported from the US. Please contact US customs for details regarding the exportation of this US vehicle. A list of US customs offices and contact information can ve viewed at http://www.riv.ca/USCustoms.aspx

Attached is a recall waiver form. We are able to consider these in place of a recall document for situations like the one you are describing.

To check on recalls that need to be referenced in the Recall Waiver, go to: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm
When you check the links provided by RIV.CA above, you may find that the 6-way driver and passenger seats will need to be replaced. I am told that mike villainternational.com should be able to help.
On the Recall Waiver Form, you would NOT provide any documentation from the manufacturer, but attach the NHTSA report from the web and write a Declaration by the importer (buyer). You will of course need to address the applicable recalls for your coach.
