2000 CC affinity

Look at an Affintiy 42' tag with C-12 with 2 slides Just under 100,000 miles and all service records seem to be in order. New rubber and batteries may (I hope) be the only things that need to be addressed shortly. My husband and I have never owned a motorhome but have trailer traveled in the past. Eventually in a couple years we plan on full-timing it after selling our home.
My main question is that we have researched mh's for quite a while and CC's are right up there among the best. This particular model. does anyone have any concerning news or experience with it? Thanks, Donna

If this coach is the one that is in Clovis, Ca/. owned by Linda Kissner. As a former partner with her, and driver of her coach. This is in awsome shape, clean as you will ever find. All systems work as designed after spending over 8,000 just in 09, It is a really nice coach. Had 56,000 when we purchased it, and now just under 80,000 or ??? You will not find one a lot better, not sure what she will take, but am sure I will not get my money out of it.

I bought a 2002 Affinity in AZ last month. My wife and I love it. Beautiful interior and exterior. We have not gone too far in it yet, but in our case there seem to be few to-dos. I don't think there is much difference between 2000 and 2002. The Cat motor is a bit stronger.
I can tell you I saved myself about 5 grand by picking it up slowly. After I decided to buy I resisted the temptation to drive off into the sunset with it and just sat in the dealers lot from 2pm to 1:30 am reading all the service records I was give (few) and also scanning all the operating manuals. Then I turned on everything and made sure it worked. The next morning I presented the dealer / sellers with my list of stuff that did not work and told them to call me when they were fixed. I then went back to the airport and flew home. 10 days later they had fixed the stuff and I drove it the 400 miles home.
They did 5 grand worth of fixes. On the drive home I have discovered a few / very few items that needed repair. This amounted a a few hundred dollars.
So far I am a very happy camper. If you buy the Affinity you will be getting one of the best class A motor homes ever made. Good looks, good ride, beautiful interiors, very high quality components, safe, a great travel companion.
IMHO as the economy continues to recover into next year the prices of good used motor homes is going to go up. Buy now and avoid the price increase.

2000 coaches were built solely by Country Coach, and went downhill after that when National RV bought them. they were the last of the really good ones. --- On Thu, 12/17/09, Dale Morris wrote: From: Dale Morris Subject: Fw: Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] 2000 CC affinityTo: Cc: linkiss1@...Date: Thursday, December 17, 2009, 11:28 PM someone looking to buy a coach--- On Thu, 12/17/09, Bajagirl wrote: From: Bajagirl Subject: Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] 2000 CC affinityTo: "Country-Coach-Owners@yahoogroups.com" Date: Thursday, December 17, 2009, 8:41 PM

AMEN George! Do you even own a coach built since 2000 Dale? If not, on what basis do you make such a broad statement? We've owned a 2000 Intrigue and own a 2005 Inspire. Other than the Inspire being a "lesser" model they are comparable in quality and design - the chassis is nearly the same except for the Cat engine which is fine. In anticipation of anti-Cat opinions, unlike the Cummins engines they did not have seal problems when the ULSD came out. They too are comparable, nothing and noone is perfect.

These statements are based on personal experience.

sorry for affending some of you.. Just voicing my opinion of how things changed from CC from the late 80's to the 2000.. I know 100's of people said they went down hill when National got involved. I still believe they make a great coach, but know many who were dissapointed after 2000. I am on # 3, and would not like to own anything different. They still built a great coach, Problems with quality control has not been were it once was.

Dale, I'm not offended. I just think what you are saying is ridiculous. You may have people who say that some coaches are better than others but I doubt there is an hard evidence that pre 2001 coaches had lower problem rates than later coaches.

You think so. I don't. So, no offense just a couple of opinions.

Thanks much, understand. Everyone has opinions, I am not always right.
Their quality control, and repairs etc, seem to get behind some when they started building 3 times as many coaches as back in the old days.

I picked up my 42 Intrigue at the factory in Nov of 05 I placed the order in July a few small items were corrected by factory techs I planned to spend 4 days in Dallas on my way to Fl to correct items from the initial trip but I continued on to Fl since there wasn't anything to fix the 06 Intrigue is a great coach for many reasons including the new flat floor front slides I have a solid basically problem free coach with 35,000 miles BOB 06 Intrigue 12047
