Does anyone have any idea what the problem is: We have a remote button for locking the door and the bays. All of a sudden it stopped locking the door...the bays still work. Checked for fuse..that looks good....any suggestions...do I need to take the door apart? Thanks in advance P.S. Regular key works fine also

Hi Paul,

There are a set of contacts on the door frame (forward hinged side) that meet up with a set of contacts in the door itself. You need to clean them up with some fine sand paper of steel wool. More than likely the contacts are dirty and or not mating up together when the door is closed.

The wire that runs between the door and the door frame is probably broken.
Not too difficult to fix, it happened to us last year, You will have to take the door apart (just the interior cover) and reach behind the door frame to complete.
Was advised by this forum (thanks) to use a spring inside the door to make sure the new wire doesn't kink and break again.
The advise worked great.

The the 4 conductor wire that goes between the door and behind store age cabinet in front of the

passenger seat can fail because of the stiff vinyl jacket and the rigid rubber O ring on the door frame..

I had to re-splice mine.
