need some advice

Yahoo Message Number: 56213
Hello there,

During our recent electrical issues, the electician (who was finally able to diagnose and repair our electrical difficulties) placed his dirty hands on the top of our two front leather seats. It looks like grease and we are afraid to attempt to clean it without some suggestions.
Any ideas from someone who might have had a similar issue? Thanks,

Jerry,

Not sure but I don't believe that the seats are actually leather. If they are like the seats in my 2004 Allure the material is actually a synthetic leather that in many ways is softer and more durable than leather I believe that you can wash it with a mild soapy water. We use dish washing detergent mixed with warm water on a soft rag. Occasionally we will use a window cleaner such a Windex for smaller soiled areas.
The material is remarkable as our coach is 6 years old and the seats look and feel like new. I have had leather seats both in houses and vehicles and they never stood up like this synthetic. It doesn't stiffen up and crack like leather over time.

Its hard to believe but ULTRA LEATHER in country coaches can be cleaned with 409 per the manufacturer BOB

Don, Bob, and Kevin,

Thanks for the suggestions, and I'm glad to report the 409 worked just fine. Another rescue from the country coach Yahoo group.
Thanks again,

Jerry

We have the same coach and ultra leather as you. We had a small black spot that could not be removed. Apparently it was a small knick on the surface. A supervisor in the service department at Lazydays sprayed it with an aerosol can. Don't know what it was, but the spot disappeared with no trace of anything. Any idea what that was?

George,

Sorry, drawing a blank on that one. Since you said it was a small knick I take it that this spray somehow covered or filled it in. If anyone knows what it was it sure would be a good thing to know about. I know that sometimes black mold will leave stains on surfaces that is virtually impossible to remove.

Windex is not good to use as it will dry out the material over time and cause cracking - 409 is Ok but Fantastic works better on vinyl - be sure to rinse with clean water when done. Murphy's Oil is the BEST for leather and syn. leather products. And along with cleaning your leather it works great on your wood work - will clean and oil/condition all in one application. Removes grease, oil, wax, ink pen, and many others. Mix with water per directions on bottle, dump the leftover "dirty" Murphy Oil water into the holding tank and it will clean, deordorize holding tanks and it will lubricate your valve body to help with sticky holding tank valves all at the same time. Great stuff. Been using it around the house on kitchen cabinets, window trim, leather furniture, RV seats - ceiling vinyl and our walnut cabinets. I've been doing our boat seats and our car interiors for years. Will leave your leather and vinyl products soft and supple, and it smells great. Try it, you'll love it. Careful not to use it undiluted on woodwork as it can remove certain older varnish products when used full strength (unless you're trying to strip the old varnish off - then it would work great) but it won't harm the newer varnish/poly. products used today.

The spot was not mold, and it would not come off with detergent. I'll be at Lazydays in about a week and will try to find out what the aerosol spray was.
