towing question

Yahoo Message Number: 56376
Is there any forum member towing an GMC Acadia AWD (all wheel drive)? Looking for information on base plate, tow bar, braking system. Any advise appreciated.

Al I have a Buick Enclave which is the same car and I have the Blue Ox base plates and their Aventa Tow Bar. The brakes I went with the Roadmaster Air Cylinder Brake. Both of these items are easy to use and aren't very noticeable when not towing.
There is also a 50 amp fuse that you will need to pull when towing. I went to the auto parts store and bought a taller 50 amp fuse which makes it easy to find and easy to pull out.

Al,

I recently bought a 2010 Chevy Traverse, the same platform as the Acadia from GMC. With some help from a friend we installed a blueox baseplate and the blueox wiring kit. The instructions provided by blueox were nearly perfect and made a big job just a bit easier. It does take a bit of courage to disassemble the front end of a brand new car but all went well. We have towed only about 600 miles so far and have no complaints. Good Luck.
