2000 Intrigue slide roof leak

We find water in our upper storage compartments (over microwave, sink and slide couch) after the slide is extended during moderate rain with winds.

The water is coming in above the windows.

Has anybody else had this problem? If so, where was the leak?

I had the identical problem on my 2000 Intrigue. You need to get a remote RV repair guy out. The awning cover has to be removed and all the caulking at the seams removed and replaced. Since I was in Arizona, I used Chris Snyder. He did a great job.

If you look at the outside roof of the slide where it meets the side wall you will see that it has separated. You will have to look under the slide cover. The wall must be secured or caulking will not hold.

Bruce, I think I have the problem you identified. What's the best fix? How would you secure the walls together?

I had the skin separation as described. An ex-CC repair tech advised me too open the gap without exacerbating the separation, clean surfaces then, apply strong adhesive ie., 3M 5200 to skin/frame mating surfaces. Then, apply even pressure over entire area. He said that at the CC factory, they applied pressure buy operating the slide out against metal posts in the plant with padded wood between. I used 18 wheeler tie down straps wrapped around the whole coach with padded wood stand-offs to apply pressure. After adhesive cured (3 days) I removed the strapping and caulked the seams with Sikaflex. The Sikaflex held for three years then began to fissure. So, I had to scrape and re-caulk; this time with 3M 5200. Seams are still water tight after one year. Fingers crossed! Detailed description may be found in the archives.
If it leaks again, I plan to use Eternabond to re-seal based on good reports on this forum.
