The House Smells Really Bad!

We noted a strong burnt electrical smell and both of our vent fans came on - they are on the Intellitec lighting system. The top of the breaker panel was very warm. Removed panel cover and found a burnt coil pack on the bottom of the control board had fried and fallen off of the board. Control board shows 1 green light.
At this point we had lost power to the electric element of the Aqua-Hot system - the diesel side works OK. Started and stopped the genset from the SilverLeaf control OK but the display no longer shows voltage, temp etc. Other circuits seem to work OK.
Switched mains connection from 50 to 30 amp. EMS panel report 30 amp OK and we can switch down to 20 amp.
I think we need to replace the board and I should be able to do this myself (I know enough not to electrocute myself).
I sent this information off to Intellitec to see what they say. What think you folks?

The last time I tried to contact Intellitec they said they do not provide technical assistance and referred me to a vendor who charged for technical support. I declined.

Thanks Dan, I think the only support I need is a new control board. I'll let every one know what I hear Intellitec.

But the house sure stinks!!

When you said, "Switched mains connection from 50 to 30 amp". are you doing this at the Post Camp RV site? Or is there some type of other switch I should know of? Thanks

Hi Dave, I just plugged into the 30 amp side of the power pedestal with an pigtail adapter to see if the EMS would show the change. Disconnected from the post and ran the genset to see if it would display correctly, both did.
What we've found is that relay (#1) that controls the electric side of the Aqua-Hot has burned up, literally!
Sent e-mails off to Intellitech and their distributer Master-Tech, we'll see what they say in the morning I hope.

Update......

Intellitec confirmed the part number and referred me to their distributer Mastertech. They had the board in stock, $290, and have shipped it 2nd day.
Later I got a call from an engineer at Intellitec. He wanted to know more about the failure, concerned about the fire risk, and wanted to see the burned up board. I'll send it to them after I change it out.

The house still stinks,
