Dusty Heat Ducts

When the forced air heater comes on there is a strong smell of hot dust coming from the heat registers. We did not find any information on the heat system in the expansion file folder when we bought our used Intrigue. Is there a procedure for cleaning the ducts that doesn't fill the coach with dust? Thanks.
