I am currently at OMC trying to finish up on the details of another long story to appear shortly about

radiators, CAC, fan controllers, fuel milage performance and the al- mighty dollar, which I will have

quite a few less of.

is to remove one front and one rear and measure off the coach.
If you decide to go with Road King you will not regret it (except being a little lighter in the Wallet).

This problem is a first for me.

Drove the coach out of my barn. Ran the generator and performed a few non electrical maintenace items. Did not deploy the slides. Drove coach back into the barn and reconnected to 50 amp supply.
Now for the problem. A few weeks later went to deploy slides. No power. Tried to start engine but no power there either, no lights on the dash, no headlights, no power to ingnition switch.

Interior lights work.

So, I looked at fuses I could see and they appear OK. Is there a master fuse somewhere that I'm missing.

Suggestions welcome.

Did you try the switch that couples the house batteries to the chassis batteries? Sounds like a dead chassis battery. Do your interior things like house lights and water pump work?

How about the master power switch to the chassis batteries? Or possibly the red shut down switch in the engine compartment?

X2, as stated, try the crossover switch that connects the house battery to the engine battery. Mine (rocker switch) is located on the left side of the driver's seat. Hold it down for a while (a minute?) then while you're holding it down, try starting the engine. Maybe your echo charger isn't working (common problem, easy fix?) to charge the engine battery while plugged in to shore power.

Thanks for the comments. The coach is still dead! All the interior house electrics seem to work, lights, and water pump.
There appears to be no power to operate slides and all front instruments are dead and nothing when the ignition is switched on.
Tried to use battery boost for an engine start but no success. Did get the generator to start using the boost button.
All the battery contacts appear in near perfect condition, no sign of corrosion.
The voltage gauge on the main panel shows battery at 14 volts. Battery charger light is green both inside the coach and on the charger in the battery bay.
I need to find a way to check the chassis battery now. Has anyone jump started their coach?

The slides and front instruments both work off the engine battery on my coach. The generator starts off the house batteries. I would isolate and check all batteries outside with a volt meter or if wet cells, use the eye-dropper method to check the electrolyte (sp?). I think there is something wrong with the engine battery and since you had to use the crossover switch to start the gen, the health of your house batteries is supect too. Maybe your engine alternator didn't charge your batteries while on the road? The ivnverter panel may be reporting 14 volts for the house batteries because it's getting a charge from the converter? So, you're not really seeing the condition of the batteriesat the panel. The Echo charger may not be working too, because it directs the charge to the engine (chassis) battery after the house batteries are charged.
Did you get good power to the coach from the gen, aside from slides and instruments?
Can't see why you can't jump the engine battery, but that effectively is what the crossover switch does (I think).

Hi Larry and everyone.

Finally some good news. My echo charger was showing green lights and the internal battery reading was 14.4 volts so I was confused about the possibility of the echo charger being the culprit.
Before taking out the batteries I called Vern at OMC, described the problem. He also identified the EC as being a likely cause but also told me about two inline fuses. I located the fuses and found one had blown.
Replaced the fuse, waited 24 hours and now I have a charged battery and can start the engine.
Still confused as why the chassis battery read OK and the green lights were on. You would think one or both would fail if a fuse was blown.
Do not know what caused the fuse to blow. Will keep supply of fuses in my spares kit as a precaution.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. The engine alternator would have charged the battery if you were driving before measuring voltage?
