Mirror revoval

I just finished having the coach carpet replaced and the next project is to tile the countertop backsplash areas. To do so means removing the mirrors behind the stovetop, sink, etc. I'm looking for clues before I start busting glass.

I removed the mirrored strips from my Allure and from my current Magna. They are installed using clear silicone adhesive. The strips remove easily and mostly without breaking.
Start at an open end using either a very stiff putty knife or even a chisel which is what I used. Pry the glass applying steady pressure both away from the wall while advancing the chisel further under the strip. You'll quickly get the feel.
There will be silicone residue which will need to be removed using a razor blade or similar.

All,

At the suggestion of a 'tame' glass / mirror shop / technician
Have removed a number of fixtures witin the coach by using a piece of nylon 'fishing line' in place of the 'levering' with a chisel / similar
Wind the nylon line around a piece of someting at either end to save the fingers !! - find an open edge and 'drag' behind the fixture - can be 'sawed' not unlike a cheese cutter as you progress behind the item
The nylon 'cutter' line even goes round gentle corners - eg. the wood trims on the slide out inner vertical ends
Still leaves the residue to be removed from both parts but perhaps less likely to crack mirrors / wood trim as there is no 'levering' / stresses on the piece you want to remove
