Drain current contents on ground
Partially fill tank with fresh water
Add 3-4 oz bleach via outer access opening with some fresh water after to rinse opening
If convenient take a short spin or go back/forth in parking area to slosh the mix around and park again

Let sit at least 2 hours or overnight
Run solution through all hot/cold water faucets and toilet until you smell bleach

Drain tank again (on the ground is OK) Again partially fill tank with fresh water Again run solution through all hot/cold water faucets and toilet until no bleach smell

Drain tank one last time

Fill with fresh water . . . you're good to go.

(You can shorten the process by putting the bleach in when you store the coach)

This certainly sounds like a good process for SANITIZING the fresh water tank with bleach.
One way to DE-sanitize it (as requested in the original message), would be to poop into the fresh water tank.
I could not resist, but that was what was asked in the original message.

Lee,

There are two methods. Chlorine is one. The other is a concentrated baking soda solution. Mix a couple of pounds of baking soda with water. Pour it in the tank. Follow it with enough water so the pump runs and run it in every faucet.
Let it set for a couple of hours and then drain and flush the system with fresh water.
Depends on if you like the smell of chlorine for weeks or no smell at all.
Either way works.

Scott, baking soda is somewhat effective but not close to 100% effective. Actually vinegar is better but still not 100%.
Bleach is 100% effective. It's my body so 100% is what I want. With my procedure the residue of the chlorine bleach is hardly noticeable. I don't sense it in the first fresh tank fill. And beside, 3 oz of bleach rinsed out 2-3 times, with any miniscule of reside diluted with 100 gallon of fresh water is a nil level.
Some say put Vinegar and Baking Soda together, but ones an acid the other a base and they neutralize each other, what's the point of that?

I can't imagine how that would be done. Please don't include any pictures.
