Blockage in Hydro Hot loop

After some evaluation I seem to have deduced that there is a blockage in my Hydro hot line for the forward zone. Has anyone experienced this , or any ideas on where to start looking. At this point my thought is to apply a garden hose and put pressure and see if it frees up.

Have you checked to see if the circulation pump is working?

Is one of the check values stuck? Feel the fittings with the hoses attached coming out the top of the Hydro Hot. Is one hot and the other cool. Tap the stuck (cool) one with a hammer. As I recall, they are right angle fittings. They can become stuck due to lack of use.

p.s., Check valves: There are two. Lines go to registers in different parts of the coach. Very likely cause is a stuck check valve, not a blockage elsewhere in the line to the front of the coach.

I can 2nd what Herb said....mine became stuck last year and after contacting a hydro hot "EXPERT" he advised me to lightly tab the fitting. All has worked since...he did say that if it happens again I should change the check valve. I did have a problem hitting part of the Hydro Hot with a hammer, but it worked.

After tapping the check valve to no avail I dismantled it and it was fine. I switched circulation pumps and still no flow so it is not the pump. I think there must be a restriction in the line or at the heat exchanger. I followed the lines where possible and see nowhere where there could be a kink and it seems well installed, (zip ties and sillicone at all bulkheads) so my next attempt will be to try and flush the loop with fresh water. Any other ideas would be entertained.

Be sure and "Back Flush", you don't want to push the blockage in to the exchanger.

Get a radiator flush kit and install it in the line. That way you can use fresh water to pressurize and attempt to flush it. The cost maybe $10.00 at any auto supply store and can take the heat after you are done.

I am going to change the check valve first on the off chance that even though I have taken it apart and looked at it and it works fine, it may be binding from back pressure or something odd like that. If not I will look at the flush kit and see if it looks easier than pulling the hose off the unit and hooking a water hose fitting on it. I will also need to remove the check valve to backflush and hook up a line to capture a lll the boilerfreeze that hopefully comes out with whatever crap is plugging the line.

Well I found the problem. The heater craft exchanger that was second in the loop, located under the fridge was plugged. Where the inlet hose switches to a small copper brass fitting was plucked with a hard crystalline material . Looked like it had built up over time. Fortunately it was not the one in the dash and this one was accessible . I crimped the blue stripe hoses with needle nose vice grips and removed the exchanger, reamed the fitting with a lag bolt, flushed with water, and reinstalled. Voila! Instant hot check valve followed by hot air at the exchanger. Thanks to those that had ideas to try in finding the problem.
