Day Night shades

In the bedroom we have manual roller, MCD day night shades.
The day manual day shade in the bedroom will not roll up. The shade was down, my wife went to give it a pull for it to rise and she said she heard a click and the shade just rolled down completely. I cannot get it to go back up but I can manually turn the roller and rewind the shade however it is not held so I have had to put a wedge in to hold it up.

Is it likely broken or is an adjustment gone out?
The whole assembly is inside a pelmet and I cannot see how it is attached. I have downloaded the manual but cannot see how the fixings are made.

Help anyone?
