Battery disconnect question

I'm the new owner of a 2007 intrigue . This being my first DP I've got a lot to learn. Two things that I am having problems with are the battery disconnect will not rengage with out starting the coach ? Secondly the driver seat doesn't seem to have enough clearance to rotate, should it ?

I don't know about the battery switch, but the drivers seat clearance can be manipulated by positioning the steeringn wheel up, moving the seat forward or aft and swing up or down the armrest. It's sometimes tricky, but can be done on my coach.

I can rotate the driver's seat on our 2006 Intrigue. I takes some positioning forward and back and arm rests up and down but can be done and makes a nice difference in the living area.

Your seat should turn around and face the main living area. when you turn it, as in mine the left arm hits the steering arm. I push the lever down so it can go under the steering wheel. then move the seat as far forward as possible until the back of the seat misses the steering wheel. you might have to move the back of the seat more into an upright position, but it will miss the steering wheel.

Thanks to all that replied. Unfortunately I've tried every combination possible, and can't find the combination on the seat. Actually my bigger concern is the battery disconnect. Can anyone tell me what the minimum coach battery voltages is before you start seeing issues? The only thing that seems to bring the coach battery voltage up to where things work properly is running the generator for a few hours?

Robert, I am electrically challenged myself, however, most Motorhomes with Generator, Shorepower, availability have been set up with an Automatic Transfer Switch which is set up to Default to the Generator. In my Coach, the Generator is priority 1. meaning that if I am on shore power and I turn on the generator, the shorepower is automatically disconnected so as not to overload the circuitry. This transfer switch will have relays that can/do go bad over time and set to fail usually for the Generator side since that is default. I would check your house battery bank when on shore power only to see if you are receiving voltage from your charging system which is probably through your inverter.

That sounds about right. 11.8 volts and battery disconnect will not rengage. Sounds like these big boy's won't stay alive more then a day or so with out being pluged in to shore power? So my next question would be is it ok to plug into a 20amp source just to keep the battery voltage up ? I'm working on getting a 50 amp service set up but it might be a few weeks coming?

Rodger, while washing the wife's car this evening i was surprised by hearing the auto start generator engage on the CC... I thought that I had found the solution to this when I plugged into a 20 amp shore power. ( all that's available right now.. 50 amp on the way.. ) first thing I did is check coach battery voltage.(13.24) after inspecting I found the Battery disconnect had been left on. So my question is. Does the Generator always override shore power? Even when battery voltage is high?? Is turning the battery disconnect off the only way to keep the Generator auto start from engaging ? Is generator auto start voltage adjustable? If so where?

Rjlatimer10: a couple of thoughts here just FYI. First, the info from Rodger is correct and checking the transfer switch is easy with a multimeter. While on shore power check both sides to see if you have 120; start the genset and do the same. You should be able to trace the wires from shore and genie to determine which switch.

I might guess your auto gen start may be either set to too high a minimum (doubtful) or more likely, you might have the exercise mode turned on. If you have a Silverleaf , you might check the settings.
Lastly, if you sign off with the coach model and serial number, it will be helpful to the group in assisting you by knowing the info and similar models,

there is usually a setting for auto gen start in the Xantrex management system. In our 2004 Allure the control panel is located above the entry door. You should have a manual on how to turn off the auto gen start feature. If you don't have one, let us know what model Xantrex you have and we'll see if ours is the same. We have our auto gen start feature turned off. We leave the battery disconnect switch "off" meaning we use the batteries. The battery disconnect switch is for service or when you put the coach in storage.

When our battery disconnect switch (by the passenger door) is "on" that means no battery power is coming into the coach. You need to turn "off" the battery disconnect switch to get juice from the batteries, for example when you dry camp.
We too had a problem with the transfer switch in the bedroom closet. They stick closed. We had the transfer switch replaced by LazyDays in FL.
