Carefree over the door adjustment

My Carefree awning over the door locks up when the retract button is pushed. If a slight nudge is given, and held, to one of the two arms before hitting the button then it retracts normally. I have tried adjusting the arm attach points, at the outer rail, left and right, but that does not do the job. It appears that one of the two elbows locks and won't fold without a nudge. Ideas? If you speak with carefree this is a known problem and they have a shim kit to resolve the problem. I got this but thought it was a bit expensive for what it was $30 if I remember. However it solved the problem. I will try and send you a PM with the install instructions which might help find a work around.
