LCD or Plasma TV

Yahoo Message Number: 6714
I viewed pictures of 32" Plasma installed where the 20" front TV resided. The pictures did not show how it was attached or bracketed to the opening. Does anyone have more info.

Thanks

Ray, the stock TV was a 24", it is an 03 Allure 1st Ave. The face frame of the TV cabinet is like a regular cabinet, with the TV out there is a 1 1/2" frame around the front opening. I inserted two layers of 3/4" plywood for a mounting surface, (mounted inside the frame) left an opening in the bottom to run the wires, mounted an earthquake-proof wall mount bracket to the plywood, and hung the TV. Just for good measure, I had a special 1/8" thick steel plate made up that also bolts to the plywood, and comes under the TV. It actually carries most of the weight, just so the plasma wall mount does not take all the weight. I felt the weak link in the system was the plastic buttons that are mounted to the back of the TV, and are inserted in the holes of the wall mount bracket. Since it sits over my head, I did not want to take any chances. It seems rock solid. What a great picture, nice for DVDs. I just had the TV out this weekend, (weighs less than the 24" I removed) as I was installing power sun visors, and had to get behind it to pull the wire from the visors, down the left pillar, and under the dash. I wish I would have had my camera, I could have taken a couple pics to show exactly how it is put together. I will make up a couple sketches, and post them in the files section. I may or may not be able to get to it before we leave this weekend for Florida, there is a rally at Lazy Days Nov 5-8 for those with Motosat Internet dishes on their coaches. A combination of seminars and some fun. I will post another reply when I get the sketches posted.

Ray,

I have posted a couple sketches to go with the photos, they are in the photo album, in: Harris/tv. The next time I have the tv out, I will take a couple of pics, they are worth a thousand words.
