CAT 455 HP engine in earlier models

I would also like to ask if anyone else knows anything about having the 455 hp CAT engine in a 1998 CC. When I do research online, like look up current values on NADA or call the radiator supply house for parts no were do they see the 455 CAT in the history for research for the 98 affinity, my coach is also an early 98 model. They all say like 400-425 hp CAT. I also just have one rear axle, usually I thought I seen the higher HP engines with the tandem axle setup, but I know not always the case. I was just curious if anyone else has the bigger engine and what year their coach is, or if you know of any of the history into the engine selection that CC made. Thanks John

You need to know the engine model as adjustments are made to the engine to arrive at various horsepower ratings. Country Coach also promoted the engine horsepower based on max horsepower while CAT frequently had a lower advertised value on the engine.

Country Coach says my CAT C10 develops 385hp but CAT advertised the engine at 375hp. I finally found curves on my engine by going to CAT. You can try the diesel owners club at http://tinyurl.com/o5b7hr9
You can also try emailing Call_CAT@... That's how I finally got my engine curves. You need to include your engine serial number with your email.

CAT can do a simple software upgrade on a 425 to add 30 hp. It costs about $300. Rich 2002 Magna.

I'm sorry I guess I was not clear in my question. My CAT engine is a 455 HP, and it states that on the front cover of the engine. I was interested why no one seems to list this 455 HP engine in this 1998 year coach, and curious if anyone else had the 455 HP engine, what year this started. Thanks

Our CC is a 1999 Affinity and has the 455 CAT and a single rear axle. We are new to this group having only purchased from the original owners in August.
