Lithium Batteries

Yahoo Message Number: 92509
I just came upon a web site that has Lithium Batteries for RV's, has anyone tried these, they claim longer battery life and all kinds of other advantages, lower weight, etc.,

Would like to hear from real world users.

Thanks
Ray

The lower weight comes from your wallet when you pay for them.

Price them and let us know.

Lithium batteries have a lot of critical characteristics (high current and lower weight to energy) that are necessary for specific applications. However, just ask Boeing about what can happen if and when they spontaneously short circuit! They were banned on airplanes until the specific exemption for the Dreamliner. I am sure that the added risks and tremendously high price does not warrant their use in a lot of general applications...like RVs. Tesla uses them for their electric car and replaces them when capacity drops to 80%...which it does at about the life of a lead acid battery. I will wait for golf carts to use them before I even consider them for my coach.
