male snaps for window screens and aquahot fan motors

I used the shade and one of the snaps came off the front cap. It was held by a small screw that just pulled out. Does anyone have a better way of attaching the male snap? Also some of the fans for the aqua hot make various noises like the bearings are getting dry. Has anyone opened these up?

Roger Berke on the http://www.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/ site has replacement fans and assemblies. When we replaced ours I don't think it was the bearings. It was poor design. We replaced the fan assembly in the bedroom with 2 muffin fans (one assembly). The fans are nosier but the bit of extra noise doesn't bother us.

Rod,

I have replaced several of the male snaps for my screens. I found replacement at a local upholstery shop. What is needed is to drill the center of the snap using a small drill bit and that will release the snap. The replacement has a screw threads that you used to reattach the new male snap. Very simple to do. If for some reason you cannot find one let me know as I have several.

What MCD does is snap with bigger stainless screw. When I bought ours they came with two oversize snaps. When I needed more tried to order from MCD but they just sent them no charge.
