'04 Inspire...hit on button, no light. Also, dump switch not working.

Checked around but no help.

Any ideas out there?

Is the disconnect activated, I.e. do your lights work? On our Dolphin the disconnect has to be on and the key has to be on for the levelers to run. disconnect could account for the dump switch too.

12 volt sometimes called salesman switch. Can get bumped if you were occupying the rig or forgot to turn on if rig was in storage.

Try calling HWH and while you wait for the return call, go to http://www.hwhcorp.com/service34.html and find the service manual for your particular leveling system. That's what I did and solved my problem before they called me back.

Been there but can't find my system on the website. Can't call without a model number. Next step is to go to my manuals for more information.

Appreciate your input.

George, the '05 and '06 Inspires use Power Gear leveling and it's possible the '04 does too.

Thanks Jay. Coach is three hours from me so I'll have to wait.

How have you and #2 been?

I believe the switch mentioned is the DC cut-off switch usually mounted on the front of the small console beside the co-pilot seat. It was dubbed the salesmen's switch because it is located just inside the door. This allowed salesman to quickly activate the DC in the coach as he walked in to show it and kill the DC when he left. Because of where it is located it often was accidently hit by the coach owner who sometimes was unaware that it even existed.

If you mean the battery switch, it is on.

George,

As others have said, there should be a rocker type switch next to the entry door. My HWH system also is controlled by this switch as other things on/inside the coach. Make sure it is in the on position. I know when I turn it off as the smoke detector/propane detector makes a single "BEEPING" sound. In fact what you described just happened to me when I picked up my MH after service. The Tech, turned this switch off and when I got inside, my HWH was not working. Took me a moment to realize what I needed to do. What made me remember was that I could not get the radio screen activated by pushing a button. Also, last year my HWH system got a little glitch. What I needed to do to undo this glitch was complete shut down the coach. turning off the main switch in the battery compartment, turn off the switch by the door, then unscrew the HWH from the front dash area then unplug the wires from that dash unit. I waited about 4-5 mins and then reversed what I had done. The system then worked as it should. I was forced to do this because the system said the coach was not level and I could not bring the slides in. I hope this helps in getting your HWH system working again. Good luck

Thanks Dave, my battery switch is on, coach is in neutral and emergency brake is on. It's not important enough for me to go through all of that at this time.

George,

I have a 2005 Inspire and it has the Power Gear leveling system. I just went to http://damonrapozo.com/model_history/ and in the 2004 information he has shows the 2004 has the Power Gear system.

I had a a problem with my system a while back and with the help of Kevin and Butch they determined the ground for the system was not making a complete connection. After attaching the ground wire to another position on the frame the system works fine. This a very simple fix and might be what you are facing and might want to try.

If needed I can shoot you a picture of what I did and how easy it was to solve my issue.

Jock,

If you can send me a pic, it would be great. I've spoken with both Kevin and Butch abd so far I'm still looking at some things Butch gave me. The ground makes a lot of sense.

George, I have attached 2 pictures of the connection I made for the ground. Notice the white running from the underside of the middle solenoid of the 3 mounted looking through the small opening in the front of the coach. This is the opening that you would check on the generator. Butch had me use a # 12 gauge wire to be sure it would handle the load, One end of the wire is connected to the bottom screw on the middle solenoid. The other end of the wire is attached to the frame where there is another ground wire already attached. The screw on the bottom of the solenoid is the hardest to reach and used a stool
to reach through the opening to reach the screw. You do not have to remove the current ground, I just added the additional wire to the current ground.

This ground solved all my issues with the Power Gear system. One of the issues I had was as soon as I started the coach would automatically raise the jacks. I also had times when the system say the brake was not engaged just to name several of the issues with the system.

I hope you set up is close to mine being a 2004 and 2005.

Hope this helps, If you need any any more let me know.

Just happened to me. I have an 06 Inspire and it was the fuse in the power box located below the drivers seat there is also a fuse located in the domestic power box inside the coach. The fuse is a 25 amp and mine was located on the upper row. Hope that helps,

Haha .. I had the same problem. I was in Florida, and Butch had me ground out a wire. Yes there was a pucker factor in me doing it, but Butch and Kevin know there stuff. I drove that night my to Butch, and they went into the system first thing in the morning. Found a switch that nobody knew we had, which allowed us to take power off the HwH system. Why you may ask, Let say you have a steep drive way, and or you are pulling into a steep parking lot, You can lift the rear up, turn switch off, get over hump, then hit the power switch on. Butch also found 2 alarm systems that he had to play with to make it safe, and work properly. Saved me a butt load of time and money.
