raising rear of coach

Hi All

I have a steep driveway and need to raise the rear end to clear. I have read people state there hwh uses coach air when running. When I push the air button once and then push the up arrow for the rear I hear the air compressor run until I release the button. Is this normal? Other post I have read it sounds like coach air is used as long as the rig is running. Just want to make sure mine is working correctly. I'm a little concerned with the shock breaking problem.

Rod,

I will be interested in the answers you get.. Because once I put the coach in gear the coach goes to "TRAVEL MODE" and the rear end goes down, defeating raising of the rear end.

Dave, that is the way HWH works. You can raise either the front or the rear of the coach while it is in park or neutral but once you put it in gear, it will go to ride height. If you want to raise either end and keep it there while you want to drive, you will have to hold the button in for what you want, either up or down.
If there is a problem with your ride height, you can get it to ride height and then pull the fuse for the HWH brain before you put into gear and it will stay where you put the heigh.

Don is right on. On my bus the pressure sensor is set higher than what the bus compressor can supply, hence the little compressor starts up to top off the air bags. The motor should be running for initial leveling but not needed for minor trim adjustments. Ed McManus...'02 Intrigue 400 ISL 11361

Im going to play with it some tomorrow. I have called hwh everyday his week but still haven't been able to talk to anyone. Either there overwhelmed from work or they have the worst customer service I have found in the rv industry I did call country coach to find out the length of there shock straps. It cost me $25.00 to get the answer but he did say he would discount the straps if I purchased. 22.5 inches if anyone need to know.
