Does anyone know where nationally to find Prestone Heavy Duty Coolant for Diesels? CC Techs assured us that this is what was initially installed in our coach. At the moment we aren't ready to do a total flush, cleanout, cleanout, cleanout, - we would just like to add about a quart of coolant to bring the level up to the little view window.

Ive never seen the stuff for sale anywhere?? I was told by Cummins here that if thats what was in it...I could use plain old "Yellow Jug" Prestone and add the "additives" and it would do OK.. But if I were just a QT or so low...Id just add plain old water for that amount.

Mr Jim and Mary Joe...

Just for giggles go to the following site to read about "colors" of antifreeze...and other info...www.radiatorinfo.com...then go down the list to RADTIP...it's a good discussion of the various colors of antifreeze and what's what...a point that they make is that Prestone HD is the "same" color and can be easily confused with non HD antifreeze...so label your fill bottle as HD...if you are absolutely sure that it's Prestone HD....

Did CC tell you to change the antifreeze at some interval???...If the interval is less than 300K then I'd question them about whether it's really HD??????Also, I'd check the coolant filter and see if it's a "zero" DCA unit or if it's a 4 or 6 unit...If you have HD antifreeze, then I think that it should have a zero unit filter...

For reference, I've been unable to find any in the Tn, Ar, Ms area...but I have not checked all of the various truck stops...

Best Regards
