Looks like my Weldex back-up camera quit working, has anyone replace there camera with a new weldex without running all new wires and replacing the camera in the rear. There are other 7" models, just need something to switch out for an e z fix.

I just got back from Florida in my 03 Allure.  Backup Camera is not working.  First thing I must do, is open access panel in closet.  Check connections, tape real good.  If that doesn't work, time to call Kevin...

Check the connection behind the display, I removed the RCA pin connectors and soldered the bare wires.  TWI 2004 intrigue 11731

Check cable connections at the display and camera, clean and apply dielectric grease to male connectors. Also check in line fuse behind display.

Update

Thanks guys for the feed back. I did apply the dielectric grease about a year ago and removed the access panel in closet and used snap ties to hold up the cable because of the problems I was having with the picture last year. So I pull the Weldex and sent it in to RV Cams they are A+ and they said it worked fine will be getting it back on Wednesday. So after calling Silver Leaf (1/2hr on the phone no real help) looking at everything checking every cable and wire, I think I found the problem. Everything feeds through the Silver Leaf,  J1708 protocol with 6-pin diagnostic port on the upper left side under the dash and it was unplugged, had to stand on my head to see it. It sucks with no rear camera, will know on Wednesday after the install.

I have an 03 Allure and about 2 years ago, my backup camera (Panasonic) stopped working.  I found, after a lot of experimenting, that the camera needed to be rebooted and it would start right up.  I would check the connection in the closet first, take it apart and reconnect.  If the camera comes on, you probably have the same problem I had.  If it doesn't, check the fuse under the dash in front of the passenger seat.  If that is OK and it still doesn't work, you have a different issue than I did.

What I ended up doing is install a small on-off toggle switch under the dash and wired it to the fused camera power source.  That solved the problem.  I have gone for several thousand miles with no issues but every once in awhile this winter, I have to flip the switch off, then back on to reboot the camera and it works fine.  (The switch is a lot easier than taking the panel cover off anytime you need to reboot, or installing a new camera if you can find one.)

Other than installing a switch as Dennis has done, is there a way to turn off the bright white lights illuminating the panel buttons?
